The Smith Medium Duty Wide Spreader was designed for your medium duty range of trucks. Constructed of 304 stainless-steel for lasting durability, designed with Independent Contractors and Municipalities in mind. The customer that is seeking that bit of extra room will find this, the go-to spreader. Capacities ranging from 6 – 10.5 yards anything can be covered with these units. Our standard units are 52” in height and 83” wide, length of unit will vary from 8’ to 12’ depending on capacity needs. Available in Dual Electric or Dual Hydraulic.

The Smith Under Tailgate Series of Spreaders are designed for low-maintenance high torque drive. Built with in a 96” length, easily installed on your Dump Body or Truck. This gives you the best of both worlds, allowing you to retain the use of the truck without removing the spreader. Just put the lid up to use as ice control and put the lid down for full use of the truck. The variety of choices is a key ingredient with this design, Hydraulic Direct Drive, Gear Box Drive, Chain Drive, or Electric. Using our consistent 304 Stainless-Steel construction, durability is never the issue. Our UT Series uses a screw auger cross conveyor, self-leveling, and a full drop trough for easy cleanout.

Smith Metal Works of Newark introduced the next evolution of Dump Box Spreaders. Designed for Dump Bodies and Highway Department Dump Trucks, they are lightweight and easy to install through the coal chute. The simplistic design and easy installation make tackling those early or late ice storms no longer a challenge. Dual hydraulic motors and replacing the chain with an auger system leave minimum maintenance. Our auger design unloads evenly, maintaining the stability of the truck. All dump box auger spreaders include a galvanized screen.

This large capacity spreader constructed with the durability of 304 stainless-steel comes in a range of 5.8 yards to over a 14 yard struck capacity. Offering dual hydraulic motors, 83” width with either 53” or 65” height, and a variety of options including auger operation.

Ranging from 1-1/4 yards to 3 yards struck capacity, and a manageable 40” height and 50” width, fits your standard pickups used today. The perfect sizing for parking lots large or small. The lengths range from 68” to our longest length for this series of 120”. Whether you are looking for a dual electric or dual hydraulic this is the spreader for you. Standard issue with an on/off switch or upgrade with a dual speed control.

Our Series II is constructed of 304 Stainless-Steel for long lasting durability our customers have grown to expect. The 12” removable chute gives ease for offloading unused material, towing a trailer or storing your spreader. This spreader has been in production for over 40 years and many of our customers still order parts for their 40-year-old units.
